Tokyo Citizens' Day Special Concert "The 18th Yumenoshima Music Festival"

October 1st is "Tokyo Citizens' Day." Its purpose is to raise the sense of self-governance among Tokyo residents and to promote the development of Tokyo and improve the welfare of its citizens. It commemorates the founding of Tokyo City as a regular city with a mayor on October 1, 1898. It was established as "Tokyo Citizens' Day" in 1952.
